Daniel Gil

Artistic Director/Co Founder

Daniel Gil is the Artistic Director/Co Founder of True Mirage Theater, and a critically acclaimed actor in South Florida. He earned his BFA at New World School of the Arts/University of Florida, where he honed his craft as an actor, writer, and director. Gil has had the privilege of being directed by such names as Jim Randolph, Margaret Ledford, Peter London, Tai Thompson, Andy Noble, Gail Garrisan, Juan C Sanchez, Tanya Bravo, Frank Quintana, Chris Anthony Ferrer, Oliver Gorf, Ricky J Martinez, Michael Leeds, Adalberto Acevedo, Stuart Meltzer, JC Besares, Rachel Finley, Tim Davis, and Tamilla Woodard, among others. After co-founding True Mirage Theater, Gil wrote, directed, and starred alongside Darcy Hernandez-Gil in his short play UNDENIABLE TALENT (full length coming soon), which served as their inaugural production. Other roles include: MACBETH in MACBETH, IAN in LEVELING UP, RENE in THE CUBAN BOXER, LARRY in CLOSER, PICASSO in THE WOMEN OF PICASSO, STANLEY in STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, KARL/STEVE in CLYBOURNE PARK, SAMMY in THREE DRUG DEALERS, DANNY in THE SUBMISSION, JASPER in THE ALIENS, BERTHOLD BRECHT in THE PLEBEIANS REHEARSE THE UPRISING, LORD CAVERSHAM in AN IDEAL HUSBAND, THE MAN/BARON DOCTEUR in VENUS, and DAVID in COVENANT, among others.

Darcy Hernandez-Gil

Co-Artistic Director/Co-Founder

Darcy Hernandez-Gil (Co-Artistic Director / Co-Founder) is a critically-acclaimed Actress, Singer, Producer, Director, Vocal Coach, and Teaching Artist. She is a proud graduate of New World School of the Arts, a board member of the NWSA Alumni Foundation, and a 2014 YoungArts National Winner in Musical Theatre. When she is not performing, she is nurturing the next generation of artists through the classes she teaches and the shows she directs. As a teaching artist, Darcy has worked with hundreds of young actors throughout Miami-Dade. She has been a guest teacher at South Miami Middle Community School, and Doral Academy as the troupe vocal coach, and ran the after school drama program at South Pointe Elementary, Fischer Island Day School, and St. Hugh. Over the last 7 years, she has directed over 40 productions, and has prepared countless students to get in to their elementary, middle, high schools and colleges of choice, such as South Miami Middle, Miami Arts Studio, Miami Arts Charter, New World School of the Arts, Coral Reef, AMDA, Boston Conservatory, etc. As a performer, Darcy has worked at many theaters throughout South Florida, including Marquee Theater Company (Aida - Amneris), Actor’s Playhouse (Miss Nelson is Missing - Miss Nelson/Viola Swamp), Island City Stage (Zanna, Don’t! - Roberta), The Wick (Annie - Star-to-Be), and Theatre Lab (Cuban Courage - Maria) to name a few.
