True Mirage Theater will be holding auditions for their 2023-2024 Season on Saturday, September 23rd beginning at 3:30pm at Encore Academy of the Arts!

We are seeking non-union actors for plays and musical productions. Actors of all ages and gender identities are encouraged to audition.

 

Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues. 

If you wish to be considered for the musical productions, please prepare 2 brief cuts of contrasting songs that you feel shows off your vocal range. *If you are singing, you only need to prepare 1 brief monologue.

 

Rehearsals for every production take place during the weekends, and in the evenings Tuesday-Friday.

Rehearsals begin October 10 at Encore Academy of the Arts

In the midst of a war-torn nation, President Jacob Wringer’s newest work, “A Dress Dipped in White” has just finished its first act. It’s preview night, and tensions are high, as the dreams of all those participating seem to ride on the continued success of the evening. This tension erupts at the discovery of the leading lady, choking to death on a walnut. Will anyone help her? ... anyone?

~LIL - 20’s, POC female. Looks as though she hasn’t seen a shower in years, with smudges of dust and filth coating her from the top of her head to the bottom of her bare feet. Longs for her Mother’s affection. Carries the weight of years of emotional and physical abuse, but remains hopeful throughout the darkness.

~JACOB WRINGER - 40’s+, or someone who can play older. A tired old man. President of the world. The room freezes to ice at the sight of him.

A newcomer in an alien abduction support group starts to doubt his reality when he’s the only one that notices its members start disappearing.
~TROY - mid 30’s, black, a bit hardened due to his experience 

~RUTH - late 50’s/early 60’s, caring, understanding, warm. Able to sing.

~MIA -late 20’s/early 30’s, POC, sarcastic humor to keep most at a distance, close with Troy

~JOSEPH - 30’s, blunt, too comfortable.

~CLARA - early 30’s, POC, too open, inappropriate at times.

~AYA - mid 30’s, POC, quiet, to herself but open at the same time

~VITO - mid 20’s, Latin, nervous, unsure of himself

“RESONATION - 2024”

March 16-17, 2024

The Festival that brought us “Songs From The Brink” is back! Celebrating new and original works of musical theatre, RESONATION will be an evening highlighting songs from 8 never-before-seen musicals. We are looking for diverse actors with excellent musicianship, the ability to sing in different styles and learn harmonies in a short amount of time. This is done in the style of a reading.

$220 ($60/performance, $100 rehearsal stipend)
